Recommended Restaurants and a New One
Over many years we have holidayed in southern France and around the Provence. In recent years we have spent time around the Cotes de Rhone Villages. Finding web sites that provide genuine local advice has always been a difficulty but this year we found yours and during our late August/ early September break we tried two of the restaurants you recommended La Farigoule, Ste.Cécile les Vignes and St.Hubert, Entrechaux. We stay in Cairanne and have passed by La Farigoule over several years thinking it an unpromising place. This year we tried it for dinner on your recommendation and we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were great, attentive but not intrusive and the food was good - imaginatively presented and reasonably priced. We returned for a second visit. At Entrechaux we intended to try your recommendation of L'Ancienne Poste for lunch after a morning in Vaison but it was closed which led us to try St Hubert. We loved it and again returned a second time for lunch.
An establishment we would also recommend as being worth a visit is Auberge Castel Mireio, Cairanne. It is run by Bernard and Odile Kbaier. The menu is simple and reliable with daily specials and the venue is lovely. They are very welcoming and meals on the terrace, lunch and dinner, weather permitting give great views of Mont Ventoux. We would heartily recommend it. They also have a small and very comfortable hotel as part of their enterprise. We would advise a visit and would be pleased to receive any feedback you may have after our recommendation.
