Le Probus, Grignan, another favorite in Grignan; a clear, precise concept of Southern cooking using products in season. The restaurant is named after the Roman Emperor Probus who chased the Teutonic tribes out of the Provence. The decor tries to fit the name. Auberge de la Clue, Plaisians, off the beaten track in the tiny hamlet of Plaisians. Between Mollans sur Ouvèze and Buis les Baronnies turn right into picturesque Rte.D72 and then left through a gorge up the mountain towards Palisians. The auberge is a favorite of many locals and visitors, a gourmet heaven with an excellent price/quality. Lovely setting with magnificent views of Mont Ventoux.
