Vaison & Pays du Ventoux - Hotels and B&Bs
This is the area around magnificent Mont Ventoux, the "Giant of the Provence". Draw a rectangle from Carpentras east to Sault, up north to Vaison la Romaine and west to Orange. Most of it is Southern Côtes du Rhône wine country, with famous wine villages like Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Cairanne andd Rasteau. You find a lot of history too: Vaison la Romaine, France's Pompeii and Orange with its Roman Arc de Triomphe and Theatre Antique. Excellent wines, good food and music festivals belong together.
